The Red Death 1
- THE RED DEATH 1 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on a 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in the fan press book, "WHISPERS, Vol.4, No.3-4, 1982". It illustrates a proposed film presentation titled, "The Red Death," written by Ray Russell, based on Edgar Allan Poe's story, "The Mask of the Red Death".
In addition to producing "Whispers" books, dentist Stuart D. Schiff ventured, unsuccessfully, into the limited edition book publishing business. In 1977 he used the imprint, "Whispers Press" to publish, "Rime Isle" by Fritz Leiber, and in 1978 he published "Heroes and Horrors" also by Fritz Leiber. There was also a signed limited edition book. "Foundation's Edge" by Isaac Asimov, that Schiff published in 1982.
